Barbara Richard, M.Ed.

Master of Science in Educational Leadership & Administration

Barbara Richard received her Master's Degree in Educational Leadership from the University of Scranton. She has over 30 years of experience working in general and special education. Her roles have ranged from classroom teacher to administrator, including Assistant Principal at a special needs school outside of Atlanta. These roles have allowed her to develop practical experience and a deep appreciation for assisting children and adolescents with their executive functioning skills, so that they can be successful both academically and emotionally. Her goal is to create an environment where all children can thrive, with a special passion for helping children who are neurodivergent. Furthermore, Barbara has regularly collaborated with parents, caregivers, multidisciplinary teams, and over 50 private schools within the greater Atlanta area.

In addition to her vast experience, she has also gained educational knowledge and mentorship from Peg Dawson and Richard Guare, author of Smart But Scattered, in Executive Function coaching. The relationships Barbara has forged with countless parents, grandparents, aunts/uncles, and caregivers over the years has inspired her to provide "parent" coaching sessions to support anyone who is raising a child within our community. She has received training from the Positive Parenting Program, and that will be the “theoretical orientation“ of her "parent" coaching sessions.

Given her background and expertise, we could not be more pleased to have Barbara assisting with private school placement, educational support within the public school system, "parent" and executive function coaching.
